6 - Some thoughts recorded the night before the Mathematics HE Summit, Peter Rowlett

On 12th January 2011 the Mathematical Sciences HE Curriculum Innovation Project convened a Mathematics HE Summit. This brought together representatives of 25 university mathematics departments, the IMA, RSS, OR Society, the Council for the Mathematical Sciences, The National HE STEM Programme, sigma and the MSOR Network to discuss some serious, high level questions about Mathematics HE. The night before the Summit, I recorded these thoughts.

Trevor Hawkes decribes his project 'The Internet Librarian and Curator for Mathematics Videos', a small-scale, proof-of-concept pilot project, taking the first steps to create an online portal giving searchable access to a selection of recommended mathematics video tutorials.

4 - A Pilot for a Shared On-line Statistics Advisory Service - Alun Owen, Loughborough University

Alun Owen describes the project 'A Pilot for a Shared On-line Statistics Advisory Service'. Alun led a collaborative bid with the Birmingham City University, De Montfort University and the University of Sunderland to offer a Statistics Advisory Service targeted at final year and postgraduate students via an online learning space using Elluminate.
